vice just posted this video on k and depression - made me think again about the toll it takes on someone's life when dealing with the psychological effects of being raped as a child.

also made me remember this video someone posted on here about the ring in the uk; there was an interview with a pedophile arguing that the only reason a child would experience mental issues later in life is because society would treat them as though they had something to be ashamed of.
If they're not killing the kids they're ruining their lives. this needs to stop.

The effects are lifelong. It has been called "soul ripping."
I was anally raped at 4. Fifty or so years later, I still struggle with the aftereffects (but am doing much better). However, I was also sexually abused by a sibling (separate from the rape) and physically, verbally, and emotionally abused by my nuclear and extended family on both sides. I was also bullied in school.
My second cousin is a homo and a pedo. And, yes, my family is J. I know a lot about this stuff, unfortunately.

Thank you for sharing. Evil thrives in the dark. The light you shine on it by telling your story is what will destroy it.

I am writing a book, which is incredibly cathartic. Thank you for your kindness.
