That doesn't strike me as related to Spirit Cooking. The purpose of spirit cooking is sort of a reverse baptism or reverse communion to permanently condemn the souls of the attendees to hell. Whose spirit did you think was being cooked, the cake? In doing this you gain the trust of the political elite because they know you don't have a trace of religion in you and someone with any religious conflict can become a problem for these people.
I know there are white witches trying to counter act the binding spell, and yes your right witches with a spiritual or ethical conflic are a HUGE problem for them. Please know that when I condemn witches I ONLY mean the dark ones, and I try to make the difference known.
