It doesn't make any sense whatsoever, except that there is some sort of organized campaign to tear him down.
Maybe it's because of his history. Everyone is so found of looking back into people's history here except his.
He used to work at liberal rags where he got kicked out for being too promotional. He wrote a book about how being controversial is a way to gain infamy and influence.

If he is a true believer, it must be a huge coincidence that his entire life up til now involves a series of self-promotional stunts and self-aggrandizing victimhood. Look at the JRE episode.
Yeah there's a lot of stuff in his past that is ridiculously shady.
He "ran" for congress in 2012. Did an Reddit AMA about it and collected an unspecified amount of donations and then didn't actually run. I never heard how any of that situation got resolved to be honest.

Yeah he seems to be in this for glory but at least he got the message out alot more people paying attention to trafficking busts now.
