Yes, that's the argument they're making. I find it ridiculous. They also attach to this argument the idea that the urge to rape kids is, in itself, not wrong or indicative of the defects and failings of the person experiencing that urge. I also find this ridiculous.

can't agree. person cannot be punished for thought, only for actions. No excuse for child abuse. the desire may be a sickness but only the act is a crime. imo. this is not normalizing or legitimizing.

I don't mean to be insensitive or hurt your feelings but, how does having been abused give you a special insight into what pedophiles need? Doesn't it instead make you more likely to have a deeply confused psychology surrounding pedophilia and abuse?

Murderers just need HELP before they can murder someone. Therefore, promote the idea that murderous bloodlust is ok, basically the same thing as wanting to go for a run, or wanting a sandwich, and not indicative of the extreme personal defects and failings of its host.

It's this attitude that's ultimately the most destructive to the ones you're trying to protect. * runs for cover *

Admitting the blatantly obvious fact that pedophilia is a destructive abomination springing from the pedophiles own personal failings is more destructive to children than child rapists.

KILL YOURSELF

It is wrong and we should continue to beat this drum... We also have to remember that there is many generations of kids who have suffered and are out there as adults who know nothing different than THIS. so what do we do about that?

Funny how people can get taken to Guantanamo Bay for having 'terrorist material' yet pedophiles can create their own 'pedo material' (Robert Robinson aka casio) and roam free.
