The office I was in was in disarray, old technology, weird older guys. It struck me as being very low-tech, and that they had lots of time on their hands, since the majority of time I was in there they were BS'ing with me. The 'public' Nasa is very different, lots of spit and shine so to speak. I don't want to burst anybody's bubble about Nasa, maybe other areas were different. For me I felt like I was in Hotel California and was glad to leave, regardless of how 'glamorous' or privileged it might have felt. I've had a lot of dealings w/ Nasa, not in a 'connected' way.

Nasa be weird. I've been in there a few times (needed 'clearance' first). The public 'tour' is all fancy but Nasa itself seemed a bit grungy.

I imagine there is a lot of waste going on. Of non work. It is the government after all

Exactly. I did some freelance graphic art work for them once and the material waste (paper etc.) was amazing to me.
