I think you underestimate just how popular "Two and a Half Men" is, in every country around the world. Or perhaps you have never left America and don't realize (not a criticism.) Charlie Sheen is recognizable literally everywhere on the planet.
Charlie Sheen has never been 'a family man' to the public.
when he hit stardom he was part of the "brat pack" (like the old Rat Pack, but named such as it contained sons of famous actors) along with Keifer Sutherland etc...
Been married how many times now?? and each wife saying he was a drunk/drugged, physically and mentally abusive.
Then came the very public meltdowns, PLURAL, including multiple porn stars and drugs.
and the very massive meltdown over 2 & half men, and ending with him being outed as HIV positive.
NONE of that says "family man"
