One thing some people are going to have a hard time coming to terms with is that this is a truly bipartisan thing. There will be arrests on both sides.
It is a bipartisan problem where both sides are dirty but I'm sure the media won't portray it that way. They will use it to further divide the people even though things are already at extremely dangerous levels. They will say that Russia planted cp, Podesta was framed by fascist alt-righters, etc.
They can do that I suppose, but they ("the left" anyways) don't have the numerical power to stop any trials. I'm more worried about the religious "social conservative" section of the country refusing to admit their politicians would ever do something like that.
You have a point. I'm just the type that considers most of the televangelist type republicans generally pretty obviously examples of reaction formation (I know that is Freud but his defense mechanisms are the only part of his stuff that hold water). Their exaggerated nicey niceness is usually just a cover for their own urges.

That's why I think that specific subsection of "social conservatives" would be the most irrational in their denial of what might come out. They have more moral high ground to loose than the regular "social conservatives"
