That interview with Alefantis after the "shooting" where he showed the PC with a bullet through it was a massive indication that we're on to something and that there was stuff hidden on that computer
Funny the gunman hit the computer right!! Also, no denying the "November Specials" and "notice to newcummers" that was hacked from the Comet Pizza encrypted part of the site that mentions the app and also the massive amount of data the encrypted part of the site contained.
Because the puppet in this act of the show is alefantis, to whom everyone obediently directs attention while higher ups are in damage control.
Rinse and repeat with an unnecessary threatening phone call a month or so later to try and keep focus on those files we'll never see, and imagined crimes somehow involving Alefantis, which we still have no evidence to prove.
Not that he isn't dirty as could be, whether he is dirty CIA or dirty criminal/political operative.
Quite a weasel and hope he doesn't slip away.

Why would you need to stage that whole thing? Why not just slip your harddrive into your coat pocket at night. Or just buy a new computer?
