Jones never said there's definitely nothing going on at the restaurant. He admits it's a fishy place. He even had Rogan look at a Majestic Ape clip, among other things.
He doesn't want to be blamed for the gunman story (they did start publicly blaming him immediately, after all), or more importantly, for future violence. So he says Pizzagate is ultimately about the massive government pedoring--and he's correct. Nothing wrong with that.
Also, even if CPP is involved, it's still 100% true that the MSM used it as a distraction to discredit the investigation. "Alt-Right Targets Innocent Little Pizza Shop" is a way more laughable headline than "Thousands of Independent Online Investigators Suddenly Believe They've Found Evidence of Possible Pedophilia Ring in High Levels of Government, And Here's Why!"
