I was in the midst of preparations for a performance I was leading, which also involved 20 other performers, at Winkleman Gallery, and I told her all about it. She passionately exclaimed, "Keep going! Keep performing! When you say directly linked. It's a pretty weak link isn't it.
You can say she's a fan of and inspired by and of that world and got to meet, etc, and all that is true. Is that being linked to them?
If it is, it's is a pretty weak link. She works in the art world and got to meet Abramovic through her job. It's like I worked at a movie revival house and I got to meet Martin Scorsese because he spoke at a screening there one time. Am I linked to him? Is it a strong link?
I would certainly tell that story whenever I could to try to make myself look cool, but am I linked to him?
There's a word for what's she's doing, it's called name-dropping.
