NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A Navy Chief plead guilty Tuesday to production of child pornography.

Sterlin D. Williams, 38, admitted he created a video of himself engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 12-years-old during the summer of 2015.

That's according to the statement of facts filed with the plea agreement.

Williams was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 17, 2016. He faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison when sentenced on April 17.

Nah... I think people are misunderstanding the article... Navy Chief is slang for Chief Petty Officer, an enlisted rank similar to a Sergeant First Class in the Army. There are lots and lots of Navy Chiefs. I think people are misunderstanding this to mean "the head guy in charge of the whole Navy" and thinking this is some really top-level VIP when it isn't. There's no reason for some random chief petty officer to be connected to Hillary Clinton or anyone like that.

(Not to knock Navy Chiefs, they have an important job keeping the Navy running, but they aren't some kind of way-up-there big shots who would be hanging around cabinet secretaries and stuff.)
