I'm not saying you're not onto something with the pax2 gene and elite "vampires" I believe it, but I believe we have identified that the girl that is tagged Cari's James first name is actually Caris last name Cunningham. So it's probably just a coincidence that the CARIS is the same.
The pax2 gene is responsible for human development. The colombama trait is because of a mutation in this gene, it is this gene that has the "fountain of youth vampires" in the elite so giddy about blood transfusions I believe. They seem to think this gene is the key to youth.
