I know many are using online maps to search out locations and get street view pictures. I am doing the same as I have been doing research of the property related to former Pegasus Museum (3518 REAR 11th St, NW) owner Joseph T. Scheve (Scheve also owned 1644 North Capital NW).
I have been researching 1644 North Capital NW (had several posts about this topic) and had been curious about the alley behind the building.
Google Maps showed it but it was an outdated street view (from 2009). I got an inspiration to search Bing Maps and VOILA! I found a much more recent street view and it answered a lingering question of mine of what is currently in the alley behind the building (to be updated in another post soon)
As an example, compare these two:
GOOGLE:
https://www.google.com/maps/@38.9118699,-77.0096641,3a,75y,339.7h,81.8t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sMKmPunfk9BcSJNHYN7AA-A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1
BING:
https://www.bing.com/maps/
- Type in the following parameter: "12 Quincy Pl NW Washington District of Columbia 20001"
- Rotate 180 degrees
- Maniplulate the view so you can see into the alley (between red brick apartment building and the gray flat); This will be same location as the Google Map link above. Notice the difference in the image.
**ONLINE MAP SEARCH TIP: **Use BOTH Google and Bing in your search if you see a street view is outdated.

Yeah, they seem to have finally established a foothold here, all of the 'New' posts have a disproportionate amount of downvotes. Of course there are some crappy posts in there but something's up if it's happening to every post.
