Stanley Kubrick was itching to blow this whole thing wide open in the years leading up to his death. One wonders if he would've succeeded in that goal had he not been assassinated before the release of Eyes Wide Shut.
I just saw EWS again, for the first time since like 2004 or something. The movie was just weird to me then, didnt make much sense. Saw it again now and boy does it make sense now. Wow, just wow. And the last scene; SPOILER ALERT
Holy shit. The two guys checking out the bear is the same as the two guys sitting in the foaje at the party they are together in the beginning of the movie. Two grown ups looking at a bear in a toystore. Cruise and Kidman let their daughter pass through themselves, in direction of the two guys, who turn the other way and walks out of the shot, then the fucking WAITER from the party they were at in the first scene comes into the shot from another angle, so that their daughter is "squeezed" between the two guys now out of the shot, and the waiter. As soon as the waiter is into the shot we go to extreme closeup between Cruise and Kidman which lasts for MINUTES, and you only see their faces. I immedeatly started wondering where their daughter went and why they forget her like that. Saw the scene again and again and then found articles. Kubrick is showing us that they take the girl, no? Holy shit what a sick movie.
Between this, eyes wide shut, and the shining....he was in the inner circle and wanted to get the word out without dying (or being too conspicuous about it). It took a few decades, but it's finally working.
happened upon this yesterday......give all three parts a shot......a lot of this sounds like a VERY reasonable interpretation of elite players revealed in eyes wide shut, political implications, etc. can't help but think this will shed light on current groups involved...
