No doubt something to it. If I were a teenager in some circumstances I might not hesitate to donate a pint of plasma a few times a year for $1000 or so. 25 years ago I knew some young rockers living in a warehouse who did so -but only got $40-50!
Where it gets sketchy is that the benefits (from what I've read in the context of Thiel and others) seem greater the younger the donor is.
Young adult blood isn't it. So informed consent is not possible.
Young people do heal amazingly compared to adults. It would be strange if this parabiosis did not work.
But nobody wants you to drain blood from their 5 year old.
