Oh, dear God! More coded messages! "Dangerous buses"? WTF?!!!! How can a "dangerous bus" be like "day-old meat"?!!! You don't eat buses ... oh, wait! I read an article on human trafficking. As we know they use coded messages to advertise their prostitutes. One of the phrases used was "mileage". If an ad said a prostitute had "mileage", it meant either that they were either older or that it wasn't their first time at the rodeo. So did that mean that that JP was "riding" individuals that had mileage and let other people "ride" them? There would be "eating" involved since that's another coded sexual term.
I think like someone else said, the danger in day old meat is that meat which has been left out for a day shouldn't be eaten. And buses aren't exactly dangerous, but bus travel does seem to have some risks. Reports of serious accidents during long highway bus trips are fairly common, and the low-cost bus lines with cheaper tickets are perceived as riskier. So that's what this email would appear to be about.
In ordinary circumstances, but someone actually posted here an article by the Washington Post I believe in which a reporter went along with Podesta on one of his trips. It was a PR stunt by the HRC campaign, part of their PR campaign to try to relate to ordinary people, and the Washington Post reporter was more than willing to write a puff piece on it, and mention things like that Podesta has been on the bus often enough that he's like an old hand, he doesn't even have to search for the wifi and knows where the wifi reception is supposedly best on the bus. There's a pic of him on the bus too.

Fresh meat = young, inexperienced victim
Day old meat = old, obvious victim
He's too old to be taking cheap bus rides.
