It's all theater. If she rushed off straight after, or never turned up at all, rumors would start. She has to pretend everything is fine and everyone is her buddy, so when the charges start being laid she can announce "I have no idea what this is about!!" and "This is clearly about me daring to run for president as a woman. I've been nothing but nice to these people!".
