I will delete the post if people think it is misleading, though I still find it a very odd reference and will leave this decision to others (don't want to detract).
I hope they/you keep the post up. Roosevelt and Truman allegedly doing something like that shows that it has been in dc and elite culture for ages. I wonder what the pineapple means
