I fully expect him to 'pass away' in the coming days, when in fact it will be faked. He will be taken care of, for sure, and unfortunately it's not in our hands. He has built up significant karma, if you believe in that, and if reincarnation is true (I kinda doubt it), maybe he'll return as a Haitian child.
