Pizzagate is an ideal 'wild goose' because while it is an authentic issue, it is so horrific the average Joe's knee jerk reaction is to reject the very idea; desperate for it to be false. So if the powers that be need to hide, they flash a tiny sliver of pizza. The truthers go hog wild, autisticly hyperfocusing on the tidbit while the deed is done. The next step will be to throw the next journalist under the bus, this time implementing the new 'Fake News' rules and statutes. Hide and watch.
Well, for me it is clear. Is Trump is the real deal, (i think (85%) he is real deal) they will assassinate him, if attempt 1 does not succeed, they will try again and again. Or Trump must be able to stop them from day one. He has done that by his kabinet picks imo. No 9-11 names, no Bush clan, etc. only latest talk of Dyncorp in Trump kabinet and anti Iran retheric is worrying imo.
O, first before i go on with a rant that spooks in my head now. ;-) Your question "Do we yet know from what we are being distracted?" is the build up for ww3 by a false flag russian invasion of Ukraine where by MSM propaganda in hours (before it can be debunkt) a NATO response and so ww3. My points for that: Anti RT tv propaganda (so, if such event happens they can put it on black) The US story and The EU story

The tanks and manpower to EU from US.
Now the question is, are Putin and Trump in on it, or are they/one of them the real deal?
Trump has to take them down (if not part of it) or they will take him down. They will not let their power taken away and stop their agenda. Not easily at least. I am sure they will not hesitate to take a plane down if necessary for their agenda.

I am convinced 9-11 was 11 years prior already in detail planed. The 7 Wesley Clark countries are not yet conquered
