Also some of these institutions/individuals may have even been trusted with knowledge of the most problematic information so that they may recognise and flag it for suppression, it is imperative that we identify it. Being aware of these associations serves both as a dissuasion to their work and a potential source of future whistleblowers when it becomes obvious to them that the ship is sinking and they can only save themselves now.

One would assume most of them are dumb as bricks to be putting themselves in this situation, and some of them, I suppose, are also looking for a way out. This is our way of making it obvious to them they're the weakest link in the chain, therefore disposable, but also letting them know they can bargain their.way out of it.
