Alig had just been released from jail after serving 17 years for manslaughter. A party organizer within the New York club scene in the 80s and 90s, he had been a member of the Club Kids. The hedonistic lifestyle and the gruesome details of the murder are described.
While in prison, Alig started painting. Circa 6:15, the video informs us that Alig uses a similar ingredient in his paintings as Marina Abramovic. Also around this time, the movie 'Party Monster' about his story was released, written by his friend James St. James and starring Macaulay Culkin. Culkin had already formed the band 'The Pizza Underground'.
Circa 9:30, the video includes a clip of the young Michael Alig being asked the following question: 'Now Michael, let's get this straight now, you seduce youngsters and turn them into homosexuals ?'
Alig's response: 'I suppose. You might say that. We find kids...You, you can tell if someone is 15 or not...you can tell if they are gay.'
Questioner: 'You were telling me that you were a sort of born 'chicken hawk' in fact, Michael. Like anything over 10 is too old for you?'
Alig: 'Well that's pushing it a bit far.'
Questioner: 'OK'
Alig: 'Uhm, you might, maybe 16, 17.'
Questioner: 'Well, you are skirting the age of consent there.'
Alig: 'Right.'
