This one I'm not too sure about. I watched his documentary on Netflix a couple weeks back, and he seems like a gay icon, and a real connection to the wild New York of the 80's. I can actually see this one being reasonable.
Yah just from some gay friends I know in a way Michael Alig, made famous by 'Party Monster' is seen as a gay icon for some reason amongst these decadent fucks
I mean the guy seemed like a total attention whore and annoying as hell (not to mention a scummy addict and murdering dirtbag), but I can see the appeal. Dude threw parking lot parties and randomly managed to bring ferris wheels in, in new york city. Same reason people get nostalgic about studio 54 and all that scene. For me, I grew up into punk rock and hardcore, so I have fond 90's memories of CBGBs' shows. If I were a gay kid, it would probably be the same thing for the club scene.
