lol, why am I a shill? At least post some reasoning.
James, is that you? Reason I ask is...During the FB convo with Pizzagate Gear, he, JA, was trying to embed "I think ________ is a shill" into the convo, in what I perceived to be shit-stirring, forum sliding bullshit.
So, I ask again, is that you, James?

This probably won't do any good, but it's worth a shot. You can contact the person who runs the archive at http://blog.archive.is/ask, and ask why material is being removed. Maybe if enough of us raise a stink, something will happen. I won't hold my breath, but it can't hurt to try.
It should be obvious that storing all of your information on a site like this is not a good strategy. Archive.is is useful for preserving sites to guard against modifications by their publishers and you should keep using it, but by all means make local copies of all important information.
The problem with relying on that strategy is that while you will have a copy of your own data, you will not be able to access the information that the other thousands of researchers have saved on their personal computers. If the main archive goes down, it would be impossible to assemble all researchers' data into a new central repository.
Thank you for confirming that http://archive.is is giving a "out of capacity, come back later" error when trying to archive webpages. We should go back through old threads over the next few days to make sure everything is still there.
Just doing some random spot-checking, it looks like it's still serving archived pages, you just can't add anything new right now.
Being that it's a low-traffic day/time of the week (Friday, 1am EST), I'm hopeful that it's just server maintenance. Also, perhaps they've run out of storage since there's been an intense flurry of archiving over the last few months.
If they need to raise money for more space, they should crowdfund it, and make sure that this community knows about it (even if indirectly, or secretly, to avoid PR issues).

def should store info on secure external drives after archiving
StillTheSameOld ago
Came here to post this/ see if someone else had.
My old ones seem to be working fine.
I guess making pdfs of the sites is easiest at this stage. I haven't got tonnes of storage though.
Is there a good alternative site?
foxxywoxxy ago
maybe http://archive.org/web/

As I noted earlier, a solution is mirrored backups of all researchers' data. For example, http://wikileaks.openanthropology.org/Mirrors.html

You can fucking upload wherever you want with a local copy you realize. There are hundreds of sharing sites available.

Omg convert everything into pdfs and save it all

Either that or sabotage. Can't people download websites to their hard drives anyway?

For example, these are still serving:

Paper copies, old fashioned printing it off? Back to Carrier pigeons :-)

Do you suspect that's what's happening, or do you know that they're now busy deleting our pizzagate archives?
Are there important threads here at Voat about New Hope Academy you'd like us to be privy to? If so, would you mind linking to them?
