My .02 after watching it and then promptly falling asleep in my hotel room. If I had the right software, I could do this for real, but for now, will have to rely on "trained" eye:

  • Photometric analysis: Lighting seems reasonable, artificially generated in an interior environment using a mix of sources - 3 or more. Colorimetry seems normal with no odd, or unnatural light sources consistent with computer generated lighting. Shadowing is consistent throughout the production, with no points of origin changing locations. Shadow reaction is normal and responsive to body movements and acts predictably. There is one issue I find a little odd, but not concerning - the color temperature of the lighting behind Assange's head, used in the over-the-shoulder shot. The color temp was very high, almost daylight in appearance. It is a very blue color and odd for this type of shoot. There are a handful of reasons for this, it just seemed somewhat abnormal.

  • Motion Analysis: Typically, counterfeit videos exhibit some amount of a range or "artifacts" which often indicate a fake video. These "artifacts" include: aliasing (motion artifacts), bitmapping, tearing or image peeling, jagging, and frame issues. An unaided visual review of the video didn't reveal any of these type of items. That being said, the video was viewed at 1080i, on a consumer LG 42" display with no color calibration. It would be doubtful that many of the aforementioned "artifacts" would be visible on this setup, but some would be. No such inconsistencies were noticed by unaided visual observation.

  • Audio Analysis: Under my current circumstances, there is no way to analyze the audio program with current hardware at my disposal. All observed audio seemed normal.

If this video was faked, it was done with the absolute best of the best hardware. If it was, it would be doubtful that any of us would ever be able to prove it. And even if you could, the mouthbreathers would never understand the explanation.

For now, I'm going to throw down this is proof-of-life.

I thought that it was interesting that he went a bit into the FBI and CIA analysis of Russian interference. He thinks it was shody at best, fraudulent at worst. He talks about the supposed Russian hacking of a Vermont power grid, and that it was debunked (which is recent news).
The focus was really on how wikileaks is trustworthy, and didn't receive leaks from Russia. It was watered down for the average person that doesn't follow all the details. I expect the AMA will be more interesting.

HOWEVER we, seemingly, all worried for nothing which makes me pretty pissed off. Why the hell didn't he just provide proof of life back in November when everyone was freaking out? This isn't nothing. This is still important. Something happened. Something prevented him from "interfering" with the election further. Why didn't he appear earlier? Why did all the Wikileaks database files change date to 01-01-1984? What happened with the keys being wrong in November for the deadman's switch?

Where they threatening his family? He did mention his family in this interview.

I am really happy he is okay, but something is amiss here.

I've been watching this interview closely, here's a couple of my thoughts:

  • Why is he so much higher than Hannity? The perspective and lighting seems to be different between the two.

  • There is an interesting echo in the room on the vocal track, but both parties seem to be experiencing it the same.

  • Hannity's head looks much smaller than JA

  • Hannity is not allowing JA to fully answer questions and he keeps cutting him off

  • JA is articulating well and probably speaking faster than he normally does because Hannity is being impatient, but I get the impression he was not briefed on this questions prior to the interview starting.

  • Not saying this is happening, but the outline around JA looks strange, and how I'd image if he was indeed sitting in front of some kind of greens screen.

Any other thoughts from you guys?

Edit: Sorry guys, great to see his face and hear his voice after so long, but I'm not sure this qualifies for legit PoL. The reason that i'll say that is because this is clearly heavily edited footage and perhaps more compelling is, there is no mention of the release date and everything covered in this piece was old news. Absolutely nothing was recent within the last 30 days.

He didn't help elect Trump deliberately. He just released information that was already in existence at a time when he knew it would be seen by a lot of people. The fact that Clinton has done so many dodgy things is just the truth, he just allowed the truth out, if he hadn't he would have been deliberately covering up for her. I don't think not covering up for Clinton is equal to helping Trump. That it helped Trump was a by product of telling the truth.

Feel the same way you do -- Very much hoping he's alive and well. But wish he had worn something different from Pilger interview. Hair is pretty much like Pilger interview - And in one shot he seems to be sitting up rather high -- like on a Bar stool? Also, would have liked to have seen something of crew setting up -- and Hannity and Assange a bit closer together -- only one shot of them in same frame, but they're quite a bit apart. Also, in both Pilger and Hannity, Assange has light beard on chin. Different lighting -- generally different hand movements, but in Hannity you don't see all of the hand movements as they are below camera range.

Hannity was on Cavuto earlier today briefly and he said that he is confined to a very small space. He said it a couple of times really emphasizing the small but gave no comparisons so maybe that's part of the reason for the odd angles. It also looks as if Hannity is sitting at a lower level than Assange didnt it? But I personally think that's him. He has no windows either! Didn't he say that? I couldn't image not having sunlight.

I wonder sometimes though, if you took footage randomly of several different people being interviewed and treated it like it was faked, whether you wouldn't be able to come up with similar 'evidence'? Although the bit with the collar is definitely really weird and doesn't seem normal at all, but I've never scrutinised footage that closely before so perhaps weird things like that happen sometimes even if it's not fake?
