I'm more interested in where Spence bought his home: "Spence and Mr. Shiina were embroiled in a real estate deal involving the house in Kalorama, a two-story Victorian showpiece valued by real estate agents at $1.15 million. Spence had told friends that he obtained the money to buy the house by blackmailing Mr. Shiina. Mr. Shiina denied he was blackmailed by Mr. Spence."
This is exactly the area where Alefantis, Brock, Obama, and the Podestas are buying real estate. I'm going to do some digging about that area.
have a theory why this area may be important - many of these nice houses may already come equiped with elaborate custom basements such as Tony's movie room. the homes exchange hands to those that need them for similar purposes.
check listings on zillow for homes in area and see what kind of extra space or ammenities they have:
"In 2011, award-winning architect Mark McInturff beautifully renovated the residence and enlarged it with a three story modern addition. "
fuck that reminds me of a recent story I saw about London - all the nice homes are getting renovations done to build expansive basements: https://youtu.be/PwSmcaj39e4?t=90

I suspect you're right. Have no idea where to find out, but if I get a few minutes I'll poke around and go google dumpster diving.
Thanks for the links. Interesting.
