The general idea is that pre-prepared food is not allowed in the white house. Everything must be prepared on site by the staff.
If 65k worth of "food" was flown in, no matter what, this chef would/should/could have known about it. But now he can't tell us if that really happened, or if it was code.
This chef, Walter Scheib left the WH in 2005 during the Bush Administration.
There's a claim 65K of food was flown in. This claim was not made by someone with first-hand knowledge. It's literally gossip.
Right before this email Obama did have a pizza party. Food was not from Chicago, but St. Louis. Chef brought, his dough, his oven to the WH and cooked like 20 pizzas. Zero taxpayer money involved. Chef did it on his own dime.
Ah - ok, i get what you mean. . It's unverified, and shame on me for taking it otherwise.
I guess this goes in the 'whatever' sub then.
Reading the tone of the stratfor chain, it's difficult to dismiss as pure hearsay...and without knowing what, if any, relationship one chef had with the next, we can't say that this guy knew anything.
It's a thread (or two) worth pulling (maybe?), but you're right in that is not concrete enough to stay here.
The Stratfor guys says "I think" or "I guess" or something like that when he makes his claim. To me that is not firsthand knowledge and I don't know how a guy in Austin would be in a position to know it. Frankly it sounds like something you see in a mass email that your grandmother forwards.
And when you google that claim of 65K worth of food, there is no story whatsoever that matches during the time frame. The only close is the pizza guy from St. Louis who brought his ingredients.

What?
What's the email have to do with the chef? The poster seems to imply a connection and one is not obvious to me.
