There is no ping-pong in Nabokov's Lolita. I always took the game of Roman Ping Pong as a hint: Quilty says "Roman ping", plays the ball, Humbert fails to answer with "Roman pong" – Clare Quilty is, in fact, Humbert himself. (Other hints are the dreamlike quality of the changing interior of Quilty's mansion, and Quilty knowing things about Humbert that he could not have known.)
I did not make the obvious connection to dissociative identity disorder (DID) until Pizzagate.
Kubrick was aware of child abuse by pedophiles, as was Nabokov. Both tried to tell the world about it by masterfully utilising their specific medium to make us see through a child-lovers eyes.
A Ping-Pong themed Pizza Restaurant might just be that, and nothing more. It's owner might just be a normal gay guy attracted to young men or even boys, his comments on his social media may just be in-jokes to gay friends. As Freud said, Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
But even if this is all true, and neither Alefantis nor his business are involved:
Child-Trafficking, child-abuse, child-rape, child-murder are real.
And we will not longer ignore that.
I had seen this documentary several years ago, thank you for the link, I'm going to re-watch it!
Nabokov definitely knew as much or more about pedophilia as we do after weeks of research. As far as code goes, there is a high probability that Nabokov and Kubrick made it up, and in doing so created it for all the pedo-criminals thereafter.
I remember Nabokov mentioning green leaves as symbols for youth and flowers for girls/women. This does not seem to have caught on. Maybe that would have been to obvious for "secret" code.

By the way, great observation on Quilty being a DID personality.
Nabokov did write the screenplay although Kubrick changed it some to Nabokov's dismay.
Watch this great doc on Nabokov and pedophilia. It's pretty eye opening.

Probably made up from Nabokov's research or experience and pedos glommed on to it like they tend to do
