He questions and questions but what does he do?

DammitMoonMoon ago

He can't do anything. He is part of the Congressional Oversight Committee. They have oversight and are supposed to be one of the checks in the American political system of checks and balances.

Unfortunately it appears that we currently have a corrupt Attorney General (Department of Justice) and at least some level of corruption in the FBI.

He and the rest of the committee have the power to investigate and evaluate but it's the DoJ that has to make the decision to arrest. Or the head of the DEA in this case. Apparently the head of the DEA is corrupt as well.

So, nothing is getting done. We have the answers to so much stuff but the people with the power to bring it all crashing down are corrupt. Not trying to get all political here but until Trump drains DC of the corruption we won't see any of these criminals brought to justice.

You gotta a bunch of under educated blacks that can shut St.mLouis down for days ("Who shuts shit down? We shut shit down!")

And Trey Gowdy and the rest of the men in office can't do squat but have meetings?

Trey is a prosecutor. I'm sure before he became a congress man he was a very worthy adversary for any defendant's attorney in court. This is where his power lies. And even then it's only to the extent he can prove someone is guilty and they are found guilty by a jury of their peers.

I'm sure he'd love nothing more than to crack down on all the corruption but Gowdy respects the law above all else. He's doing everything he is empowered to do.

At every one of the congressional oversight committee meetings his goal is to show ample evidence of fraud, waste, abuse or any of the other myriad illegal activities corrupt politicians and other govt hacks get into. It's up to congress to either call for sanctions, penalize or a special prosecutor. Right now we have a congressional oversight committee that doesn't seem to agree with pretty much anything from the other side. Deadlock.

It's all deadlocked right now until we can get the criminals out and get true patriots in. He's doing a whole heck of a lot more than having meetings though, I can promise you that. He's one of the few that actually seems to take his job seriously and to really care about the taxpayers. Us. He is currently, in the atmosphere we are currently in in DC, doing all he can legally do.
