Because of the heavy scrutiny placed on the facts uncovered in this investigation, accuracy is paramount.
One often repeated fact that seems questionable is the table of "code words", which purports to decrypt certain words used in Podesta’s emails including “pasta” and “walnut sauce”.
As an example of contradicting evidence, prior to the release of the wikleaks emails, several published articles referenced Podesta’s cooking hobby, specifically describing his favorite dishes including pasta with walnut sauce. Here is a quote from one of them:
"Podesta, the campaign chairman and a seasoned cook, made a pasta with walnut sauce for the dinner guests, which included reporters from The New York Times, The Washington Post, Politico, The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press, Bloomberg, McClatchy, Reuters and several major TV networks."

While this doesn't completely discredit the purported code word list, it sure puts it into question. Again, the only point to this post is that researchers ought to be careful when relying on facts that haven’t been substantiated.

I agree that "walnut sauce" here is probably not code. We debunked that a while back. The original idea that walnut=person of color was just somebody on 4chan spitballing.

You are probably right - the emails about walnut sauce seem normal, except for the part where JP writes, "Haha Jim has no idea what he's talking about." https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/30277 What does he mean here?

That seems completely normal too. It seems that Jim like most Americans has never heard of pasta with Walnut Sauce (a very real Italian dish) and didn't attend the dinner where Podesta served it and he had been hearing that people liked it and he can't believe this is true. He's asking for the straight story and if it was tasty. And Eryn Sepp (not John Podesta) says Haha Jim has no idea! I read this to mean it was delicious. I don't really see any issue with this email thread at all.
And Salsa di Noci (Walnut Sauce) is from the part of Italian where John Podesta's grandfather is from.
