I have seen a lot of posting of very old information lately which for some reason seems to be getting huge upvoats. Why is this you ask? A full on shill alert making us waste our time going back to old articles that were uncovered early on.
Please mods actually do something about this. It is clear that we have a lot of members doing this lately. If it is in the sidebar and old information it needs either downvoating or removal.

I have noticed this too. I'm hunting for new info and it's day one stuff. I thought maybe we were getting new investigators, but I guess it's the shills.

Repetition is going to be necessary for our cause to succeed. New members are coming on all the time and need to know the classics. And older folks need to be reminded from time to time of the information.

I agree. As new people do their own investigation and education they'll likely end up posting info that's already been posted. I look at it as being important, because you never know what knew bit of info you'll get that was missed. And, it helps confirm that education and research are important to keep new people's education on fire.

Many of the old threads are disappearing, either deleted or downvoted to oblivion. Perhaps this is why people are re-posting old information.

I think bringing up old stuff framed in reference to new information is a good practice. If it's irrelevant or doesn't really warrant looking back into at the time down vote it and express that.

Sometimes the comments are adding new material so I've upvoated to bring attention to that. I think in general, as a policy, we should simply politely ask the poster to search for the old threads, and leave it alone. No other comments or voating.
