Yes they are wrong. They are still waiting for the Messiah because they didn't want to believe Jesus Christ was it. He didn't fit the mental image of a mighty, conquering Son of God. So what is going to happen is when the anti-christ comes many of the jews will be fooled thinking he is their messiah. This is all prophesied in Revelation, Daniel, and many other books of the Bible.
