Acting on it includes child porn. Pedophilia is a mental disorder you cannot control. You cannot control who you're attracted to. What if your child gets kidnapped, raped, then turns out to be a pedophile? Are they a monster? NO. It is out of their control. What's in their control is how they deal with it. They must know that abusing a child or watching child porn is absolutely not okay. If they stay away from that urge then there's nothing wrong with them. Child molesters and CP watchers are the enemy, not pedophiles.
It is totally within their control to act on it or not.
I want to have sex with David Duchovny but I can't force myself onto him, and because I have a moral compass I won't try to either.
They can admire whoever they want from afar, but once they engage in any sort of viewing of child porn, they are acting on it whether they think they are or not.
