There's a social analogue to MPD which is called compartmentalization, the separation of specialized administrative or management groups into areas which don't exchange information with each other. Also there is the separation of powers, the judicial, executive, and legislative branches of the civil system. The separation of powers contrasts with sovereign model, where judicial, politicial, and military power coexists in the hands of the king.
