So I was reading thru the Federal Government's "Affidavit in Support of Criminal Complaint" against Edgar Welch. As you'll recall, he is the person identified as the person who walked into Comet Pizza with an AR-15. The complaint is good reading. What got my attention is the first paragraph, under "Introduction and Agent Background" (3rd page of PDF file). This is where the FBI's Special Agent, Justin Holgate, provides background on his qualifications.

This line really got my attention: "Prior to being appointed to the FBI, I served as a police officer in Little Rock, AR for three years." What are the chances ?

One other item I am unsure of: Are special agents "appointed" to the FBI ? i thought only the Director was appointed by the President.
