Relevance?

Human intellectual and psychological development requires integrating vast arrays of internal and external information and experiences, alongside a body that takes ~20 years to become adult. Much of what is integrated is contradictory, and much else is so contradictory that it is discarded, left behind as part of some developmental stage, biological process, psychological phase or social setting that changes over time.

Some children who are different from the so-called norm sense their difference or otherness earlier than others, but few if any of them have the ability, emotional or intellectual, to leap ahead to determine how they are meant to be years or decades into the future. Encouraging children, especially unhappy or "different" omes, to focus on adult concepts of gender and sexuality before they even hit puberty does them a disservice. Their bodies are not yet giving them a clue what is going on, and their minds can't truly grasp it. At 5 you might think you are a boy or girl, but lack even an understanding of what a boy or girl is.

Letting children, even difficult, confused or unhappy ones, grow up as children, naturally, however uncomfortable that might be in some ways, lets them develop into healthier adults who have at least a chance to know who they are. And some will always feel miserable, whether they choose to claim a made up gender or a biologically determined one.

Blurring all the lines, anything goes restrooms, full time living as opposite gender, etc., is not good for children, whatever their sex or gender.

Letting a "tomboy" girl be so, or letting a boy who identifies with girly things, be that way, is another thing. That is just common sense, letting them have space to grow into themselves.

Bending, breaking or rewriting all the rules and social expectations of society regarding sexuality especially that of young people who have no idea yet how to express sexuality, is just plain bad.

A 9 year old "trans-activist" is a symptom of a sick culture. Letting a 9 year old be an activist of any kind is not good (for the child). Great for advancing someone else's agenda though.

Should the public really focus a lot on a 9 year old's idea of gender and sexuality?

After all, if anything goes, anything goes, right? That is the problem. That is why it's relevant, that is why that child's parents are doing him (her if you prefer) a disservice.

Well put. Gender confusion and sexualizing of children is the goal.

The movie DOUBT featured a mother who was okay with her son (12) being molested by a Priest. These children have confused gender identities because they are sex abuse victims.

These are two different issues. Gender identity and sexual identity are two different things.

XX or XY.

Those are the two genders.

The rest is spin. Mental gymnastics to create gender confusion and allow for child sex abuse.
