It happens a lot. Social Engineering is probably the biggest security risk there is. I have done it before and there are open source tools (SEToolkit - Social Engineering Toolkit - https://www.trustedsec.com/social-engineer-toolkit/ ) to help facilitate social engineering attacks.

Out of all the security tools, I've had the most fun with SET, MITMf, and BEEF.
