Doesn't truly matter, UNLESS it also just so happened to destroy the hard drive beyond forensic recovery.

And if that turns out to be the story, I'll be quite tempted to call shenanigans.

Looking at that hole, the gun had to be point strait at the thing, in other words, very deliberate and I am sure the bullet went through the DVD and hit the HDD.

No. The hole was in the middle of the top of the tower case, above the very back part of the top drive. That top drive appears to be a DVD or CD. The HDD would have been directly below that, though not immediately below (a gap between them). The hole was elongated, evidencing a shallow trajectory by the bullet. That means it could not have hit the HDD, and instead hit the power supply or just exited through the back of the case below the PS.

Watch the video and pause it to get a look at the bullet hole and the computer.

If the bullet was at a shallow trajectory it would have made scaring marks, and it does not look elongated to me, it is also just under 5 inches from the front. I have tried to replicate it already, I shot 5 towers at 5 different angles without going through a door and still can't replicate that hole without shooting strait down. If you consider all the other factors, angle at door, the computer is about 4 feet in and 4 feet to the left of the doorway sitting on a lower shelf of a desk about 6 inches off the ground, if it is a standard 15" case, it puts the top about 20-21 inches off the ground.

I also did 4 additional non accurate tests, in these tests I specifically targeted the same general area at the top of the towers, 2 with side panels on and 2 off all at 20 degree offset from the left angle about 8 feet away and set up assuming an 8 foot tall man(the angles it took to make holes at a low trajectory without chaffing marks). The towers without a side panel twisted and the top caved in on one, the ones the top did not cave in formed a large hump on the top towards the rear and all them the shot hit the tail end of the optical drive and caused the drive to shift and distort the drive face. Now that was all without the bullets going through a metal clad door at a bad angle through 2 layers of hard galvanized 18 gauge sheet metal within which is wood framing and card board or styro insulation. If not solid wood as secure doors sometimes are.

I would need more computer towers to do more tests. It would be nice to be to go there personally and examine the scene so I can build a replica of the entire set.

Wait... you actually shot computers to check this out? Pix or it didn't happen.

Bullets are cheap, old towers are free, and I'm not much a photo kinda guy. Last I took a picture was right before I ran out of 35mm film for my GAF. But I suppose I could take a couple of pics of the towers tomorrow.

I did this for my own curiosity, but I am sure I am not the only person doing this, thats why I wasn't very concerned about me not taking pics. If I went through the trouble of setting up a door, I do actually have one, I would most likely get a friend to bring his camera over and do some vids.

Yeah, this being the digital age, it basically just costs electrons to document stuff now, and those are reeeally cheap.

I'm also interested in a good quality screen shot of the alleged CPP PC bullet hole. If you spot one, let's look at it. I'll post it if I find one.

ThorTheWonderful ago

I'm still working on coming up to speed on the digital age..lol I'm old, what can I say.

I haven't seen such a low quality video as that either in a long time.

Funny how they can have everything at such high quality except for bigfoot, ufo's and Comet ping pong bullet holes!

ZalesMcMuffin ago

Was the video that was broadcast a low quality one? I was assuming the low quality was due to the YouTube upload being meh.

There is only one solution. https://i.imgsafe.org/4ce1673fb7.png

Taking over the world.
