"Fake News" is almost surely directly related to pizzagate. Once they realized Pizzagate was gonna blow up they had to come up with something. They obviously dont want to address the evidence so everything is just "Fake News"
Not sure about the term but tbh fake news has been around a while, it was called satirical news before this, difference is people essentially knew they were fake due to the comedic wording and quotes etc, nowadays people just take things at face value for the most part and don't bother researching, now i, dunno about anybody else, would rather have the option to read what I like without my governments walled garden idea and approach to what they deem acceptable and real news or unacceptable fake news, I dont think my rights to consume whichever media I choose should be curtailed by the gullibility of the few who fall for such nonsense or the whims of whichever powers that be who seek to enslave our thoughts and opinions as well as our monetary, entertainment and political landscapes

This is why we need printed articles. We should start a feed for someone to print out archived articles for a timeline.

That's a great question! I'd like to know. "Conspiracy theory" was a phrase invented by the CIA to discredit critics.
"Fake news" seems to have been market tested and invented and it sprung up all of a sudden.

Google search logs show it since 2004.
