You know, I wish they would stop announcing to the world that they're going to release [something important] on [such date in the future] and play their cards closer to the chest. In other words, just frickin' release the good information first without publicly announcing one's intention. It would make the release of information more successful. Now we have to worry about DDoS attacks, violent attacks on the people with information, and other shenanigans. Shenanigans. (Evil shenanigans!)
They do that so these people will know it's coming. This in turn allows them to watch people like Podesta make their move, giving them time to make a counter movement. Podesta's move may also be a very huge trap/mistake that they fall into. Psychological warfare and a boast of power.
