Interesting timing. When he said he got "not yet!" calls, I think everyone was assuming there would be nothing until Jan 20th. I wonder what could have happened between his first scheduled talk and now, that makes it okay for him to suddenly speak about it?
He'd best cover it properly, asking the right questions - and not smooth it over. I've never seen him before last week - but it seems he has potential.

Maybe instead of waiting until inauguration, they want him to wait just until the electors' voting date (12/19) passes.

If it was indeed a friendly, it would make a lot of sense for them to switch strategies now, in light of the glaringly obvious, imminent coup attempt.
