We're all fairly confident that the Comet Ping Pong (CPP) shooting was a false flag event. But why do the false flag event? Why draw attention to the controversy, instead of hoping that it will go away quietly?
I think I understand why. The people who did the CPP false flag (CIA, Clintons, DC Police, whoever they are) were trying to sell a narrative. The narrative was this:
A shooter got inside of Comet Ping Pong, broke into some areas, and discovered there was no evidence for anything. Also, he's a conservative nut job and we need more gun control laws.
In other words, the people staging this false flag thought that, if a far right gun nut broke into the place and discovered nothing, then we would all be convinced that the conspiracy is false.
This is HILARIOUS because: skeptics already did not believe the conspiracy theory, and citizen investigators already know about a mountain of other evidence (like the Comet Ping Pong Instagram) that the false flag shooting event cannot erase. No citizen investigator thought that a gunman would actually discover an occult Satanic ritual in the office room of Comet Ping Pong. And the mountain of evidence doesn't go away just because of this false flag event.
What you are seeing here is incompetent on a massive scale. This is the same kind of incompetence where Hillary thought nobody would ever discover her homebrew server with no net security. This is the same kind of incompetence where Hillary thought she could sleep in, not campaign, ignore the Rust Belt, endorse NAFTA and TPP, and still win because of the fake polls. This is the kind of incompetence where the U.S. invades Cuba in the Bay of Pigs and utterly fails. Government incompetence.
I know that #pizzagate is bipartisan. So whether this was Democrat/Republican/Illuminati, we have to laugh at how stupid this false flag was.

I think you underestimate those who move against you. They just needed to plant a seed in people's minds that "fake news" is "dangerous". The definition added to wikipedia for "fake news websites" includes the following three: hoaxes, propaganda, and disinformation. All of which include the element of intent. Therefore "fake news" shall be considered a deliberate effort to cause danger, simply via those three items. And the pieces are already in place to strip those accused of being "terrorists" of their rights. I don't mean to be demoralizing or anything like that, but I think it is important for people to see the bigger picture as far as where the agenda is really going with this.

You make a great point. I agree with you - the new legislation passed is terrifying.

It could also easily be an effort to go after the 1st Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Yes, this is exactly correct.
