I wanted to post this quick advice for our atheist and agnostic friends as well as those on the fence regarding the occult angle:
In the context of this investigation, it is not what WE believe, individually, in terms of our religion or lack thereof, that is important. Rather, it is a clear understanding of what our ENEMIES believe that will enable us to fight them most effectively... so if our enemies turn out to be some fairy-magic-cult who believes in worshiping hyper-intelligent panda bears from the planet Xenax, then... well, that IS pertinent information... despite the fact that I call 'bollocks' on the idea of talking panda bears. Acknowledging what they believe does not make you believe it yourself. For instance: I don't believe in Hinduism - that said, I am well aware that Hinduism is a 'thing' and that very dedicated and sincere people take part in it.
TLDR: Do not let you own beliefs limit your personal understanding of what others may believe, because what they believe can still absolutely effect you - believe that.

Atheist here. I'm aware that people can do some strange and sick things if they're scooped up in a strong enough belief, whether that be Xenax or Moloch.
While looking at religion and occultism might help to find new clues, be careful with relying solely on it, and focus on how such links further the investigation.
