It is clear to attentive parties that the media has spectacularly failed to contain this.
The more that censorship occurs, the more people become curious, and the more they find out.
Now this places Alefantis in a terrible position, for it means that those above him are facing enormous risks. Yes, James Alefantis was sloppy online, and now they could lose everything because of it.
Do you think the men he serves are pleased about this?
What do you suppose they intend to do about it, now that the PR efforts have failed?
The censorship isn't working, the "fake news" line has completely backfired, and the gunman (whether it was a false flag or not) only brought millions of additional microscopes onto Alefantis and the Podestas.
Worse: it is international news. Several foreign governments are aware. Alefantis is now an achilles heel, globally.
Still worse: there is the possibility that NYPD officers and FBI agents -- perhaps NSA -- are going to reveal even more. What if they are leaking data in small pieces around the Internet. Do you think that can be stopped?
The reality is that it is no longer possible to contain this. And it is growing by the hour.
Now, Alefantis is a rational actor. He knows the people he works for have assessed the risk involved. They are about to lose everything they've worked for.
Here are his choices, rationally speaking:
Choice 1: let them "deal with" the Achilles heel in whatever way they have agreed upon. One thing is for sure, if there is some kind of attack, it is NOT coming from people online who are asking questions. There are bigger and badder individuals who are displeased with him. Have you thought about any of the decisions they've reached in private, James, regarding how to eliminate the risk you continue to cause? Why would they keep attacking branches on the Internet, when they can stop things at the root?
Choice 2: this would require an extraordinary amount of courage. And it is ultimately the safer and more rational option. No, it is not quietly turning yourself in. It is to tell the public everything -- name names and details, and make it public. As Marina Ambrovic might say, "eat the pain." You may be the most hated man right now, but fire the first arrow from the inside and you will be remembered differently.

I just re-read through the Podesta emails. Why would James give two shits about the Podesta emails? There's nothing in them to suggest he's into anything but running 2 restaurants, being friends with the Podestas (not a crime), and being a Hillary supporter (also not a crime). Go ahead, check. I just did a search on Comet and another on his email address. There's definitely not anything from James that admits guilt of anything at all and I couldn't even find anything suspicious that mentions him. The most "scandalous" thing I saw was one of John's emails explains to someone that James is Brock's boyfriend and in another email James ended it with XOXO. If there's something specific in the Podesta emails that pins him to anything please let me know but I didn't see anything damning as it specifically related to James or Comet.
