FYI there is a name for masks such as the ones worn in Eyes Wide Shut or in this creepy photo of James Alefantis:
Such masks are called... wait for it....
Domino Masks (Wiki)

With dominoes , pertaining to the color of the game pieces themselves " black & white " , this is kinda out there.... could it be a link to the black and white floor patterns famous in Masonic lodges.
