My theory about this guy: He's from N.C. where open carry is legal. You can walk into a restaurant there strapping your gun, sit down, eat. No problem.
D.C. recently struck down a restriction on open carry, but that was handguns.
This guy thought he'd be bad ass - has family history of law enforcement and concern for kids and kids at risk of trafficking via his dad and history.
So he shows up open carrying and sits down to order a pizza.
The Comet folks, already on edge from phone calls and seeing the online commotion, freak out and call 911. They tell customers to leave. Some leave WITH their beer and pizza - showing it was never an active shooter situation. They leave, cops show up, the guy fearful of cops shooting him leaves the guns inside, walks out, surrenders.
NOW this is a chance for David Brock (media matters / ctr / ex-bf of Jimmy) to spring into action calling it an "active shooter" caused by fake news, fox news, alex jones, donald trump and it's all their fault!
That's the spin already in the MSM we see. He crafts a response for Jimmy and no departing from the script until they figure out more spin.
Now the kid is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The MSM is having a field day. The public has a big negative story on Pizzagate.
Problem is... that'll be lots more people trying to find out what the heck is going on and more investigators showing up in the next few days.

Just as likey! Personally I think Maddison might have seen some stuff through his dad, and because of his convictions, decided he had to do something about the pizzagate.

I could believe that. Although, DC has very strict gun laws. It may have been illegal for him to open carry in a restaurant if it also serves alcohol. It is illegal to carry a handgun in DC if you're not a resident I believe.
