Missing Children in Virginia results for 2016 HIGHER than all other states (pizzagate)

You may have already seen this YouTube video that broke the story on the anomalies of missing children in Virginia state is 4x higher per-capita than virtually any other state. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJlvC6a-ces

I decided to do some verifying and went directly to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children: http://www.missingkids.com/Amber

I started with a search date of 1/1/2015 through 11/29/2016, and confirmed Virginia state was by far had the highest number of current missing children in that date range. Now here's where things get weird...

Do any search on Virginia year to year such as 1/1/2015 through 12/31/2015, and there's nowhere near as many missing children as there was before. Then perform the search for just 2016, and you will find a staggering increase in missing children in Virginia. Can anybody identify what is going on here?

I ran a WhoIs on the website both the .com and .org but that didn't seem to provide any answers. Is there anyone that might have any explanations as to why Virginia 2016 was a Black Hole of missing children?
