For people deconstructing the symbolism of the Comet neon sign:

• The sign has been around since the forties.

• Comet Liquors was established by Oscar Gildenhorn in 1940. Gildenhorn, was the U.S. ambassador to Switzerland from 1989-1993.

So.... if there's nefarious symbolism behind the stars and crescents on the logo, it's old.
