This just began to happen. I went to look up "propornot" on Google, but got this message:
"To continue, please type the characters below:
There's a captcha
"About this page
"Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?
"This page appears when Google automatically detects requests coming from your computer network which appear to be in violation of the Terms of Service. The block will expire shortly after those requests stop. In the meantime, solving the above CAPTCHA will let you continue to use our services.
"This traffic may have been sent by malicious software, a browser plug-in, or a script that sends automated requests. If you share your network connection, ask your administrator for help — a different computer using the same IP address may be responsible. Learn more
"Sometimes you may be asked to solve the CAPTCHA if you are using advanced terms that robots are known to use, or sending requests very quickly.
"IP address: xxxxxxxxxxx

The page automatically redirected to this address:

Has anyone else ever gotten this message and have an idea what might cause it? I've never had this happen or even heard of it, but will try to look it up, but I'm not sure Google will let me.

Are you using a VPN through a different country? Sometimes this just means they are seeing a weird IP address from you and want to verify you're a human and not a bot.

I'm wondering if it could be happening because of I've used captcha a few times today to post. The last time I posted a submission here on voat there was a message about Google and I was made to do a captcha with pictures.

No, I'm not even sure what a VPN is, but something like 4chan, perhaps? Never have used anything like that. I'm not a very technical-minded person. And I'm in the U.S.
It's stopped happening now, and I didn't have to enter anything in the captcha either.
Perhaps it's malware. I've never had any issue
