I had a recent experience with elder abuse and I must say that the police and various organizations to help in that area are completely useless. Reporting your concerns to the police is usually useless.....and as we've come to learn the FBI may be useless too. They just take your information down and if the accused has a different story they take that down too and it goes into a big file cabinet. You have to contact a lawyer. Yes....a lawyer will get action. If you've been assaulted or have standing of any kind a lawyer might be the way to go. Sometimes you still have to make that initial police report but after that a lawyer should handle it.
